The Ornamin Non-Slip Placemat is a rigid polypropylene mat, 395 x 275 mm, coated on both faces so it grips the table underneath and the plate or bowl on top. It stops a plate sliding away as the client scoops or cuts, and protects the table from spills and scratches. It weighs about 60 g.
It wipes clean and comes in bright single colours, which gives a client with low vision or dementia a clear contrast between plate, mat and table. Ornamin gives a lifetime warranty against defects.

Who it suits
A client eating one-handed after a stroke or with a hand injury, a client with Parkinson’s tremor or ataxia, and a client with dementia or low vision who benefits from a high-contrast setting. It is a low-cost first step before a plate guard or a suction plate. If the client pushes hard enough to slide the whole table setting, a suction-base plate or non-slip matting cut to the full table width may hold better.
