These terms cover the use of this website and the supply of equipment and services by Thrive Lifecare. Equipment hire has its own terms, linked below.
Last updated 9 September 2026. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms are between you and Thrive Lifecare Pty Ltd (ABN 85 645 776 352), referred to as “Thrive”, “we” or “us”. They apply when you use this website, ask for a quote or trial, or buy equipment, installation, delivery or service from us. If you are ordering on behalf of a client, a facility or a funder, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
2. This website
- The catalogue on this website is for browsing and enquiry. There is no online checkout. Prices, where shown, are recommended retail prices including GST and are a guide only. Your quote is the price that applies.
- Product information is provided by manufacturers and may change without notice. Specifications, weight limits and dimensions should be confirmed on the quote or with a consultant before you rely on them.
- Content on this website is general information and is not clinical advice. Equipment should be selected with input from an occupational therapist, physiotherapist or other qualified clinician where appropriate.
- The content, images, logos and design of this website belong to Thrive or our suppliers and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.
3. Quotes and orders
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise. Supplier price changes, exchange rates and freight can change a price after that date.
- An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing, or when you or your funder accept the quote and we begin sourcing the equipment.
- Equipment made or configured to a script (for example custom wheelchairs, seating and some beds) is a special order. Special orders cannot be cancelled once the manufacturer has started work, and any change to the configuration may change the price and lead time.
- Lead times are estimates based on supplier advice. We will tell you if a lead time changes.
4. Prices and payment
- All prices are in Australian dollars. GST is shown separately on quotes and invoices. Many assistive technology items are GST-free for eligible people; the quote will show which.
- Private customers pay before delivery unless we have agreed to an account. Account customers pay within 14 days of invoice.
- Where a funder, plan manager, package provider or insurer is paying, we invoice them directly. If the funder declines or does not pay, the person who placed the order remains responsible for payment unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- We accept EFT, credit and debit cards, and payment through plan managers. A surcharge may apply to card payments and will be shown before you pay.
- Title to equipment passes to you when it is paid for in full. Risk passes to you on delivery.
5. NDIS and funded purchases
Thrive is a registered NDIS provider. Where equipment is funded by the NDIS, a Home Care Package, Support at Home, DVA or another funder, we quote in the format the funder requires and supply only after approval. You are responsible for making sure funding is available and that the equipment is within the scope of your plan or approval. If funding is withdrawn after equipment has been ordered, section 3 (special orders) and section 4 (payment) apply.
6. Delivery, installation and training
We deliver Tasmania-wide with our own vehicles and staff. Delivery, assembly, installation and user training are quoted as separate lines so you can see what is included. Someone over 18 must be present to accept delivery and receive training. Our Delivery and Installation page explains lead times and what to expect.
7. Warranty and consumer guarantees
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
In addition to those guarantees, equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty period and what it covers differ by product and are shown on the product page or the quote. Thrive is the distributor, not the manufacturer, and we manage warranty claims with the manufacturer on your behalf. Warranty does not cover normal wear, consumables such as batteries and tyres, misuse, unauthorised modification or damage after delivery. See Warranty, Service and Repairs.
8. Returns and refunds
Returns, restocking fees, special orders and hygiene items are covered in our Returns and Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Hire
Equipment hire is governed by our Hire Terms and Conditions, which apply in addition to these terms.
10. Safe use
Equipment must be used as described in the manufacturer’s instructions and within its stated safe working load. We provide training at delivery where quoted. Please contact us before modifying equipment or using it for a purpose it was not supplied for.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, and except for the consumer guarantees above, Thrive’s liability for any claim relating to equipment or services is limited to repairing or replacing the equipment, resupplying the service, or refunding the price paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Privacy
Personal and health information is handled under our Privacy Policy.
13. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, tell us. Our Feedback and Complaints page explains how we handle it and who you can escalate to.
14. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.
