Common questions

Scooter or powerchair, which is right?

A scooter suits someone who can walk short distances, transfer on and off a seat and steer with both hands; it is for getting around outdoors and the shops. A powerchair suits someone who needs to sit in the chair for long periods, needs postural support, or uses a joystick with one hand. An OT assessment is usually required for funded powered mobility.

Do you deliver and set up powered mobility across Tasmania?

Yes. We deliver assembled and charged, set the controls and seating for the person, and go through safe use. Our own technicians service what we sell.

Can we trial a powerchair or scooter first?

Yes. Book a trial and we will arrange it at home or in our Northern Tasmania or Southern Tasmania showroom, with a consultant who can adjust the equipment to the person. There is no obligation.

What funding applies to powered mobility?

We quote in the format the funder needs. NDIS (self, plan or agency managed), Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA and private purchase are all common. Send us the OT report or script and we do the paperwork.
