This is the tilt-in-space mobile base for the Rifton HTS hygiene and toileting system. The HTS seat unit clips on to it so a client can be wheeled over a standard toilet, into a roll-in shower or up to a basin on one piece of equipment. The base tilts 5 degrees forward and 25 degrees back, and the seat-to-floor height adjusts from 390 to 550 mm on the small and medium bases and 440 to 580 mm on the large. Maximum user weight is 34 kg (small), 68 kg (medium) and 113 kg (large).
The base includes a footboard, foot-operated brakes on the castors and a footprint of 535 x 685 mm (small and medium) or 570 x 840 mm (large). It is built to be hosed and wiped down: Rifton recommends disinfectant wipes or a solution of up to 10 per cent bleach after each use.

Who it suits
A child or adult who needs postural support and tilt for toileting and showering, for example with cerebral palsy, low tone or fatigue that makes an upright commode unsafe. The tilt lets a carer recline the client for hair washing and perineal care without a transfer. If the client sits upright without support and only needs a mobile shower commode, a standard shower commode is lighter and cheaper; if the client is taller than 188 cm or heavier than 113 kg, another product is needed.

- Base only: the HTS seat unit (small Z110, medium Z120 or large Z130) is sold separately and must match the base size
- Order code Z112 (small), Z122 (medium) or Z132 (large); large 100 mm castors are an option
- Rifton replaces any product that breaks or fails in service during the first year
