The Excel Paediatric Self Propelling Wheelchair is a folding aluminium chair sized for children and small adults. It comes in two seat widths, 300 mm and 350 mm, with a 370 mm seat depth and a 100 kg safe working load. Overall width is 490 mm or 530 mm, overall height adjusts from 860 to 990 mm with the backrest and push handles, and overall length runs from 840 to 910 mm depending on legrest position.
The chair weighs 13.7 kg and folds to 360 mm wide. Rear wheels are 560 mm spoked wheels with quick release axles and polyurethane soft ride tyres, the upholstery is removable and washable, and the tension adjustable belt backrest can be tuned to the child’s shape.

Who it suits
A school age child or small adult who self propels and needs a lightweight transit-and-daily chair, for example a child with spina bifida, a lower limb condition or a neuromuscular disease who has good arm function and sitting balance. The belt backrest gives basic contour only. A child who needs postural support, tilt or a growing seating system should be assessed for a paediatric positioning wheelchair or an R82 or Etac frame instead.
