About this product

Spex Quad Mount is the standard wheelchair back support hardware for the Spex range. Four attachment points on the back canes give better lateral stability than a two point mount, with 40 mm of depth adjustment (140 mm with the extension kit) and 10 degrees of back angle adjustment (20 degrees with upper extensions). The aluminium hardware weighs 0.9 kg and fits round back canes from 19 to 26 mm.

Safe working load depends on the back support fitted: 90 kg with 10 to 15 inch backs and 136 kg with 16 to 20 inch backs.

Key features

  • Four attachment points for lateral stability
  • 40 mm depth adjustment, 140 mm with the extension kit
  • 10 degrees back angle, 20 degrees with upper extensions
  • Lock stops the back support falling forward during transfers
  • Fits round back canes 19 to 26 mm
  • Made in New Zealand, 2 year warranty

Who it suits

Most clients being fitted with a Spex back support on a manual or powered wheelchair. The forward lock matters for clients who do side transfers or lean on the back during sliding board transfers, and the extension kit gives room for seat depth growth in paediatric and progressive prescriptions.

  • Extension kit and upper extensions are optional accessories
  • Hardware only; the back support is ordered separately
