The Endeavour Universal Bed Stick is a single upright bed stick with a 180 degree return handle, used to help a person sit up, turn and get in and out of bed. The large square base plate slides under the mattress, so nothing clamps to the bed frame and it can be moved to either side of the bed. The base plate is 500 mm by 500 mm and the overall height is 640 mm.
Key features
- 180 degree return handle so the hand cannot slide off the end
- Fits the left or right side of the bed
- Large square base plate slides under the mattress, no clamping to the frame
- Suits standard bed frames and bases
- Steel construction
Who it suits
Clients who need a fixed point to pull on when rolling, sitting up or lowering into bed, and who can move themselves once they have a handhold. Common after hip or back surgery, for clients with reduced core strength, and where a carer wants to reduce the manual handling involved in bed mobility. The return handle is a safer shape than an open loop for a client with a weak grip.
Good to know
- For standard domestic beds only. It is not for hospital bed frames, which need a clamp on bed stick
- The weight of the mattress holds the base plate in place, so check the plate sits fully under the mattress
