Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to supply, hire, service and fund equipment for you, and we handle it under the Australian Privacy Principles.

Last updated 9 September 2026. This policy applies to Thrive Lifecare Pty Ltd and to this website.

Who we are

Thrive Lifecare Pty Ltd (ABN 85 645 776 352) is a Tasmanian owned supplier of healthcare and assistive technology equipment, a registered NDIS provider, and an equipment hire and service business. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Thrive” mean Thrive Lifecare Pty Ltd.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Because we supply equipment to NDIS participants and aged care clients, we also follow the privacy requirements of the NDIS Practice Standards and the Aged Care Act where they apply.

What we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, address, phone number, email address and, for organisations, your role and employer.
  • Details needed to supply the right equipment: height, weight, mobility, diagnosis or clinical goals, home layout, and the notes a therapist or support coordinator gives us in a referral.
  • Funding details: NDIS number, plan dates and plan manager contact, Home Care Package or Support at Home provider details, DVA number or private health fund details.
  • Transaction details: quotes, orders, hire agreements, invoices, payments, delivery and service records, and equipment serial numbers linked to you.
  • Website information: pages visited, forms submitted, and technical data such as browser type and IP address, collected through cookies and analytics (see Cookies below).
  • Correspondence: emails, phone notes, feedback and complaints.

Health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We collect it only with your consent, or the consent of someone authorised to act for you, and only where we need it to recommend, fit, supply or service equipment safely.

How we collect it

Most information comes directly from you, your family or carer, or from the therapist, support coordinator, hospital or funder who refers you to us. We also collect information when you use the forms on this website, call or email us, visit a showroom, or when a technician visits your home.

Every enquiry form on this website creates a record in our customer system so that a consultant can follow it up. Submitting a form is your consent for us to contact you about that enquiry.

Why we collect it

  • To recommend, trial, quote, supply, deliver, install, hire and service equipment.
  • To prepare quotes and invoices in the format your funder needs, including NDIS support item codes.
  • To deal with plan managers, support coordinators, package providers, DVA and other funders on your behalf, where you ask us to.
  • To keep service, warranty, recall and safety records for the equipment we supply.
  • To answer questions, handle feedback and resolve complaints.
  • To meet our legal obligations, including NDIS, aged care, tax and product safety requirements.
  • To tell you about products, services and events that are relevant to you, where you have agreed to hear from us. You can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only when it is needed to do what you have asked us to do, or where the law requires it. That can include:

  • The therapist, support coordinator, hospital or care provider involved in your equipment, so that everyone is working from the same information.
  • Your funder or plan manager, to obtain approval and payment for equipment.
  • Manufacturers and suppliers, for warranty claims, product registration, repairs and safety recalls.
  • Contractors who deliver, install or service on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Service providers that host our systems: our customer and accounting system (Odoo), Microsoft 365, our website host, our email marketing platform and payment providers.
  • Government bodies, regulators or the courts, where required by law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers we use store data on servers outside Australia, mainly in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider protects your information to a standard consistent with Australian law.

How we keep it safe

Information is stored in access-controlled systems with multi-factor authentication, encrypted in transit and backed up. Access is limited to staff who need it for their role. Paper records are kept in secure areas and destroyed when no longer needed.

We keep records for as long as we need them to supply and service your equipment and to meet our legal obligations, which for NDIS and financial records is usually seven years. After that, records are securely deleted or de-identified.

Cookies and analytics

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner when you first visit, and change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of the page. Declining non-essential cookies does not stop the site from working.

Marketing

If you ask to receive news from us, we will send occasional emails about products, clinical education and events. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not send marketing to NDIS participants or aged care clients unless they have asked for it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing team@thrivelifecare.com.au or calling 03 6311 1415. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

If you believe we have mishandled your information, please tell us first and we will investigate and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. NDIS participants can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
