The Foxy plastic sock aid is a curved plastic shell with two pull cords. The client stretches a sock over the shell, places it on the floor in front of the foot, slides the toes in and pulls both cords to draw the sock up the leg. It works from a chair or the edge of the bed and does not require bending to the foot.
The shell wipes clean and the cords are long enough for a client with limited reach.
Key features
- Rigid plastic shell holds the sock open on its own
- Two long cord handles for a two-handed pull
- Wipe-clean plastic
- No assembly
Who it suits
A client after hip or knee replacement, with back pain, or with reduced hip flexion who has enough grip to hold a cord. Because the shell is rigid it can be easier to load a sock on to than a fabric sock aid. For compression stockings or for a client who finds the rigid shell uncomfortable, a fabric aid such as the Etac Socky is a better match.
Good to know
- Not intended for compression stockings
- Best with socks that have some stretch
- Product code HA0850CCG
