This shower chair gives a client a stable seat with a backrest and arms for showering. The legs adjust for height with push buttons so the seat can be set to a comfortable sit-to-stand level, and the safe working load is 140 kg. Rubber feet grip the wet floor.
The frame is aluminium and the seat and back are moulded plastic with drain holes, so it does not rust and rinses clean. It comes flat packed and assembles without tools.
Key features
- Safe working load 140 kg
- Height-adjustable legs with push-button clips
- Backrest and armrests for support and push-off
- Aluminium frame, moulded plastic seat with drainage
- Non-slip rubber feet
Who it suits
A client who tires standing, has poor balance on a wet floor, or needs arms to push up from sitting: after surgery, with arthritis, or with a heart or lung condition. The backrest makes it a better fit than a shower stool for someone with reduced trunk control. A client who needs to be wheeled into the shower, or who cannot step into a hob shower at all, needs a mobile shower commode instead.
Good to know
- Flat packed, tool-free assembly
- Check the shower recess is wide enough for the chair with the door closed
- Set all four legs to the same height before use
- Funding: NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private
