malte takes weight through the handles so a child can put their effort into stepping rather than into staying upright. The frame is abducted, which keeps the legs from swinging out to the side and encourages a straighter, more controlled gait.
The backwards stop is the feature carers rely on. Engaged, it stops the frame running away behind the child, which is what usually ends a walking session badly.

This is the indoor model. If the goal is longer distances on footpaths and rougher ground, malte outdoor has the larger wheels and the drum brake.
