Knee Scooters

An older man walking in a garden with a lightweight rollator

Knee scooters, also called knee walkers, let a person with a foot, ankle or lower leg injury stay mobile without crutches. The injured leg rests on a padded platform while the other leg pushes, keeping the person upright, hands free at rest and able to move around home and work.

Knee scooters suit people who can bear weight on one leg and have good balance. Consider the knee pad height range, steering and brake type, wheel size for outdoor use, folding for the car and the safe working load. Steps and steep slopes are not suitable, so plan the environment. A basket helps carry items.

Thrive Lifecare hires and sells knee scooters from its Launceston and Cambridge showrooms and delivers Tasmania-wide, with quotes for DVA, private purchase or other funding where relevant. Book a trial or contact the team to arrange short term hire during recovery.
