The Days Gutter Walker with Handbrakes is a forearm support walking frame on four wheels. The client rests the forearms in padded gutters and grips the vertical handles, so body weight goes through the elbows and forearms rather than the hands and wrists. Gutter height adjusts from 980 to 1220 mm, the frame is 630 mm wide and 900 mm deep, and the maximum user weight is 150 kg.
The frame weighs 11.5 kg and folds for storage or transport. It runs on 190 mm wheels, with two 360 degree swivel castors at the front and fixed wheels at the rear, and the loop handbrakes on each handle act on the rear wheels.
Key features
- Padded forearm gutters with vertical grips, height adjustable from 980 to 1220 mm
- Maximum user weight 150 kg
- 190 mm wheels: front swivel castors, fixed rear wheels
- Loop handbrakes on both handles
- Frame 630 mm wide, 900 mm deep, 1100 to 1340 mm high overall
- Folds for storage, 11.5 kg
- Thick steel tubing for a stable upright gait
Who it suits
A client who needs an upright, supported gait but cannot load the hands or wrists: rheumatoid arthritis, wrist or hand fractures, post-surgical restrictions, or reduced grip. It is also used for early mobilisation and gait retraining in rehab and residential settings. The high, forward-leaning support is not right for a client who needs to sit and rest while walking, and a standard seat rollator will be the better choice for a community walker with good hand function.
Good to know
- Some assembly on delivery; height set by the therapist to bring the forearms to a comfortable elbow angle
- Indoor and level-ground use; the 190 mm wheels are not intended for rough outdoor terrain
- Oversized item for freight, so allow extra time for delivery outside our showroom areas
