The Forte Icon Maxx 500 kg is a static foam pressure care mattress built for bariatric clients. It has four layers: an Airoform memory foam immersion layer on top, a graded postural support layer, and a firm foundation split into three sections so it profiles with an adjustable bed. The mattress is 200 mm deep, the safe working load is 500 kg, and Forte rates it for medium-risk clients weighing 120 to 500 kg.
The Advantiflex Classic cover has a four-way stretch, vapour-permeable polyurethane top in blue and an extra heavy-duty waterproof PVC base in grey, with a welded 180-degree zip and a waterfall flap over the zipper. The cover and foam are fire retardant and carry anti-microbial protection.

- Safe working load 500 kg, therapeutic weight range 150 to 500 kg
- 200 mm four-layer foam construction with memory foam immersion layer
- Firm hinged strengthened sides for bed edge stability and transfers
- Triple-section split base for profiling and bariatric beds
- Advantiflex Classic cover: vapour-permeable PU top, waterproof PVC base, welded seams
- Ten sizes: single, king single, double, queen and split queen, each in 1980 and 2030 mm lengths
- Fire retardant to AS/NZS 4088.1 and FMVSS 302
Who it suits
A bariatric client on a wide or profiling bed who is assessed at medium risk of pressure injury and needs a firm, stable edge to sit on and transfer from. The hinged sides also help carers with repositioning. A client who is already at high risk or has existing deep tissue damage needs an alternating air or hybrid system rather than a static foam mattress; a client under 120 kg is better matched to a standard-width Icon mattress.
Good to know
- Check the bed platform size and any side rail heights before choosing between the 1980 and 2030 mm lengths
- Split queen sizes are 760 mm wide halves for dual-motor split beds
- Cover wipes clean with neutral detergent and standard hospital disinfectants; the cover is removable and can be replaced
- Ask about matching bariatric bed frames rated to the same load
