The Homecraft Brevetti Sock and Stocking Aid is a rigid dressing aid for clients who cannot reach their feet. A plastic collar at the end holds the sock or stocking open while the client slides the foot in, and the 737 mm coated steel handle means the whole job is done from a seated position without bending the hip past a safe angle.
The other end of the handle is a plastic shoehorn with a notch, so the same tool helps with shoes and hooks the sock off at the end of the day. It weighs 386 g and wipes clean.
Key features
- 737 mm long coated steel tube handle
- Plastic collar holds the sock or stocking open
- Shoehorn end with a notch for sock removal
- Rigid frame, no cords to thread or pull
- Weighs 386 g
- Homecraft, distributed in Australia by Performance Health
Who it suits
A client with hip precautions after surgery, limited hip or knee flexion, or back pain who has enough hand strength to push a rigid handle. Because the aid is rigid it works better than a flexible sock aid for firm compression stockings. A client with a weak grip or limited shoulder range may find a flexible fabric sock aid with long cords easier.
Good to know
- No assembly, ready to use
- Works with socks and compression stockings
- Keep with the client’s other dressing aids; a dressing stick and long shoehorn cover most lower-body dressing tasks
