Molift sling bars are the spreader bars that hang from a Molift Air ceiling hoist or Molift Mover mobile hoist and take the sling loops. They are aluminium, so they stay light in the carer’s hands, and they connect through a quick-release coupling so a carer can change between bars without tools. The 2-point bar comes in 450 mm (medium) and 550 mm (large) widths; the 4-point bar in 450, 550 and 650 mm; and the 8-point bar is a steel stretcher frame for lying transfers.
The bar width should match the sling and the client: a wider bar opens the sling and gives a more reclined, spread position, a narrower bar sits the client more upright. The 4-point bar holds the sling open at the shoulders and legs and is the usual choice for larger clients and for sit-to-lie transfers.

Who it suits
Any site running Molift Air or Mover hoists that needs a spare or a different bar size. Choose the 2-point bar for a small to medium client in a general purpose or hygiene sling, and the 4-point bar for a larger client, a client with high tone, or where a more open, reclined lift is needed. The 8-point bar is for a client who must be transferred flat, for example after spinal surgery or with a fracture.
