About this product

The Motion Composites Helio A7 is an ultralight folding wheelchair for active users who self propel every day. The 7005 T6 aluminium unibody frame and symmetrical hydroformed crossbrace are built to give the response of a rigid chair while still folding for the car, the cupboard and travel. Chair weight is 10.6 kg, and the transport weight drops to 6.2 kg once the wheels and armrests come off.

Every chair is built to the prescription. Seat width is available from 356 to 559 mm and seat depth from 356 to 508 mm, with seat to floor heights, back height and back angle set to order. Safe working load is 120 kg.

Key features

  • 7005 T6 aluminium unibody frame with symmetrical hydroformed crossbrace
  • Transport weight from 6.2 kg with wheels and armrests removed
  • Seat width, depth, seat to floor heights and back height built to order
  • Camber options of 0, 3 and 6 degrees; back angle 85 to 110 degrees
  • Rear wheels from 20 to 26 in, casters from 3 to 8 in
  • Flip back convertible armrests and anti flutter caster system

Who it suits

Full time manual wheelchair users with good upper limb function who need an efficient, low weight chair and who transfer the chair into a vehicle themselves or with a family member. It is a scripted chair, so it is prescribed by an OT or physio after a seating assessment rather than chosen off the shelf.
