The NXT BioFit is a skin protection and positioning cushion for wheelchair users at medium to high risk of pressure injury. High-density foam is topped with smartGEL infused viscoelastic foam to reduce heat build-up, and the shape does the positioning: a pre-ischial shelf stops the pelvis sliding forward, a radius-cut rear gives sacral clearance, and a moderate abductor and adductor contour keeps the thighs in line. Weight capacity is 136 kg and the cushion weighs about 1.8 kg.
The smartx3D cover is a three-layer, moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch antimicrobial polyester with a waterproof zip, and the base is non-slip and carries loop fastener to hold it in the chair. Inner and outer covers are included; fluid-proof and air mesh covers are optional. A bevelled front edge keeps pressure off the back of the knees.

Who it suits
A wheelchair user with reduced sensation, a history of pressure injury or poor pelvic stability who needs both pressure redistribution and a defined sitting position, for example after spinal cord injury or with a neurological condition, and who does not need the adjustability of an air cushion. Match the cushion width to the seat width of the chair. For a client at very high risk or with an existing sacral or ischial wound, an air cell or hybrid cushion with adjustable immersion is the better choice.
