About this product

The Posey Sitter Elite is a bed exit alarm monitor that connects to a corded sensor pad on a bed, chair, chair belt, toilet, commode or stretcher. When the client’s weight comes off the pad the unit sounds an alarm: a tone, a recorded voice message of up to 10 seconds, or both. It is used in aged care, hospital and home settings where staff or family need early warning that someone at risk of falling is on the move.

The unit is compact at 91 mm wide, 152 mm high and 56 mm deep, weighs 0.39 kg and runs on four AA batteries for around 30 days of daily use. Volume goes up to 100 dB, and the alarm delay can be set to 0, 1 or 2 seconds to cut nuisance alarms from repositioning.

Key features

  • Works with Posey bed, chair, chair belt, toilet, commode and stretcher sensor pads
  • Four alarm modes: voice and tone, tone only, voice only, mute
  • Five selectable tones and three volume levels, up to 100 dB
  • Record a custom voice message up to 10 seconds long
  • Hold and suspend buttons pause the alarm during care
  • Connects to facility nurse call with the optional 8282 cable

Who it suits

Clients with impaired memory, poor safety awareness or unsteady mobility who try to get up unassisted, particularly at night. It suits residential aged care and hospital wards, and home settings where a family member sleeps in another room. A recorded message in a familiar voice can prompt the client to wait for help while the carer is on the way.

Good to know

  • No installation: the unit stands or hangs beside the bed or chair
  • Runs on 4 x AA alkaline batteries with a low battery warning, or on mains with the optional AC adapter (8345AC)
  • Sensor pads and the nurse call cable are ordered separately to suit the surface and the site
  • Four year warranty
