The R82 Meerkat is a paediatric standing frame that supports an upright position with as little restraint as possible, so the child can shift weight, reach and play while standing. It comes in three sizes: Size 1 for user heights of 400 to 750 mm and up to 20 kg, Size 2 for 720 to 1000 mm and up to 65 kg, and Size 3 for 840 to 1300 mm and up to 90 kg. The centre column can be fitted in front of or behind the child.
The frame weighs 9 kg in Size 1 and about 15 to 16 kg in Sizes 2 and 3. Supports adjust with a ratchet system and no tools, and growth-adjustable accessories such as knee supports, trunk supports and trays are available.

Who it suits
A child who can take some weight through the legs and benefits from a standing programme with room to move, for example cerebral palsy with fair head and trunk control, or a child learning to stand. The Meerkat offers minimal support by design; a child who needs full trunk and head support, or supine tilt, is better served by a supine or multi-position stander.
