This raised toilet seat (model SC7060D) fits in place of the existing toilet seat and lid, using the standard seat hinge holes, so it looks and works like a normal seat but sits higher. It is available in three fixed heights: 50 mm, 100 mm and 150 mm. The lid closes over the seat like a standard lid.
The seat is moulded plastic and wipes clean. It suits most standard toilet pans but not toilets with hidden or concealed seat hinges.
Key features
- Fixed heights of 50, 100 or 150 mm
- Replaces the existing seat and lid using the standard hinge fixings
- Includes a lid
- Moulded plastic, easy to clean
- No arms or frame, so it takes no extra floor space
Who it suits
A client who needs a higher seat to keep the hips above the knees, for example after a hip replacement or with knee pain, but who has enough leg and arm strength to stand without pushing up on arms. It is a good option in a small bathroom or where other household members share the toilet, because it stays fixed and tidy. A client who needs arms to push up from the seat, or who needs the height to change over time, is better served by an over toilet frame or a toilet seat raiser with arms.
Good to know
- Fitting requires removing the existing seat; a spanner is usually needed
- Not compatible with concealed or hidden hinge toilets; check the pan before ordering
- Measure the current seat height and the client’s knee height to choose between 50, 100 and 150 mm
