About this product

This is the mobile hi-lo base for the Rifton HTS (Hygiene and Toileting System). It carries the HTS seat frame over a toilet or into a shower and lets the carer set the height with a foot pedal on either side, from roughly 395 to 545 mm at the seat, so transfers from a bed or wheelchair happen at matching heights. Gas-assisted tilt-in-space gives 5 degrees forward for transfers and toileting posture and 25 degrees back for rest and washing.

The frame is powder-coated stainless steel on four 125 mm twin castors, with a footboard and a seat that slides forward and back on the base without tools. Assembly and disassembly are tool-free.

Key features

  • Foot pedal height adjustment from both sides
  • Tilt-in-space, 5 degrees forward to 25 degrees back, gas assisted
  • Seat height about 395 to 545 mm
  • 125 mm twin castors with brakes
  • Footboard included, seat slides forward and back
  • Powder-coated stainless steel for wet areas
  • Base footprint about 535 x 685 mm (small and medium) or 570 x 840 mm (large)

Who it suits

A child or adult with significant physical disability who is toileted and showered by carers and needs tilt to stay positioned and a raised height to protect carers’ backs, for example a client with cerebral palsy at home or in a school, or an adult in supported accommodation. The tilt is also useful for a client who cannot sit upright for the time toileting takes. If the client only needs a shower commode at one height, the non-tilt mobile base is simpler and lighter, and the stationary frame suits a fixed toilet position.

Good to know

  • Base only: the HTS seat frame (small, medium or large) and pads are ordered separately
  • Small and medium seats share one base size; the large seat needs the large base
  • Maximum working load follows the seat size: 34 kg small, 68 kg medium, 113 kg large, footboard limited to 68 kg
  • Check the toilet height and clearance around it against the base at its lowest setting
