The Silvalea In-Situ Deluxe Leg Sling is a full body hoist sling designed to stay under the client in a wheelchair or chair between transfers, so it does not have to be fitted and removed each time. The divided leg sections give hip, thigh and full femur support, and the integral head support has removable stiffening bones. Safe working load is 200 kg and it is available in X-Small to XX-Large.
It is made in three fabrics: Parasilk, a smooth low-friction fabric that slides easily under the client; Superfine Plus, a soft breathable mesh; and Superfine double layer for extra durability. Loop attachments fit standard spreader bars. Wash at up to 71 degrees and tumble dry at up to 50 degrees. Warranty is 12 months.

Who it suits
A client with limited body control who is hoisted for every transfer, seated to seated, supine to seated, toileting, bathing or from the floor, and who needs head support in the sling: advanced MS, MND, cerebral palsy, or late-stage dementia. Leaving the sling in place suits a client for whom repeated rolling to fit a sling is painful or distressing. It is not a toileting sling; if clothing has to come down while the client is suspended, a toileting or access sling is the better choice. In-situ use over a pressure cushion should be reviewed against the client’s skin risk.
