The Silvalea In-Situ Straight Leg Sling with Head Support gives full body support during a hoist transfer. The straight leg design keeps the legs closed, which suits clients who need the hips and knees held together and those where a divided leg sling is not appropriate.
As an in-situ sling it is made to be left under the client after the transfer, rather than removed each time. That reduces repeated rolling and repositioning for clients who transfer often or who find application painful. A documented risk assessment should support the decision to leave any sling in place.
The head support is adjustable and uses removable stiffeners, so the amount of head and neck control can be set for the individual. Low friction fabric on the leg sections and head support makes the sling easier to slide into position.
