The Tyrex 1:10 threshold ramp bridges a 30 mm door sill, step or floor change with a run of 300 mm across a 900 mm width. It is moulded in Australia from recycled tyre rubber, so it is heavy enough to stay put on its own and the surface is slip-resistant and UV-resistant for indoor or outdoor use. The 1:10 gradient is the gentler of the two Tyrex profiles and suits self-propelled wheelchairs and walkers.
The ramp has straight edges. It can be left freestanding or fixed with adhesive, and matching 1:10 side wings are available if the client needs to approach from an angle.
Key features
- 30 mm high, 300 mm long, 900 mm wide
- 1:10 gradient
- Recycled Australian tyre rubber, made in Australia
- Slip-resistant and UV-resistant surface for inside and outside
- Freestanding, or fix with adhesive
- Optional 1:10 transition wings for side approach
Who it suits
A client in a manual or powered wheelchair, or using a walker or scooter, who is stopped by a single 30 mm sill at a front door, sliding door, bathroom or garage. Measure the sill height first: a sill between 25 and 35 mm suits this size, and Tyrex makes the same ramp from 10 mm to 160 mm high. Where space in front of the sill is tight, the steeper 1:8 version has a shorter run but is harder to self-propel.
Good to know
- Made to order sizes and custom shapes are available from Tyrex
- Wings are sold separately
- Check the ground either side is level so the ramp sits flat
