The Uccello Kettle is a 1.5 litre electric kettle set in a rotating cradle. To pour, the client rests a hand on the handle and tips the kettle forward in its base; the spout pivots down over the cup and the base takes the weight. The kettle itself weighs about 1 kg, the footprint is 230 mm across and the element draws 1850 to 2200 W. It lifts off the 360 degree base for filling like any cordless kettle.
A wide 55 mm hinged lid makes filling easy, the water window shows the level, and the kettle switches off when it boils or is lifted from the base. Auto shut-off with overheat protection is built in and the base is weighted and non-slip. The cord is 880 mm. Warranty is 2 years.

Who it suits
A client with hand arthritis, reduced grip, wrist weakness, tremor or one-sided weakness after a stroke, who wants to keep making their own hot drinks safely. It also suits a client seated at a bench or in a wheelchair, since pouring needs no lifting. A client with significant cognitive impairment who may not judge the cup position still needs supervision, and a client who cannot reach a bench at all may do better with a wall-mounted hot water dispenser.
Good to know
