The VELA Tango 700E is a Danish-made work chair for adults who need to sit to do things at home or at work. An electric actuator lifts the seat by 200 or 300 mm depending on the version, so the same chair works at a kitchen bench, a desk and a dining table. The seat rotates 90 degrees to each side and can be locked, and the central brake locks the base with one lever so the client can push up on the armrests to stand. Maximum load is 160 kg, with a recommended user weight of up to 130 kg.
The chair weighs 34.5 kg. The seat tilts 10 degrees forward and 15 degrees back, the backrest height adjusts by 100 mm, and the armrests adjust from 140 to 250 mm high and 385 to 525 mm apart. Seat pans come in four sizes from 400 x 400 to 490 x 490 mm.

Who it suits
An adult who tires standing or cannot stand for long, for example with MS, post-stroke weakness, heart or lung disease, or a progressive condition, who wants to keep cooking, working or crafting from a seated position. It suits a client who can transfer to and from a chair with the brake on and use the armrests to push up. A client who needs to propel themselves around the house is better served by a wheelchair; the Tango is pushed short distances with the feet or moved by a carer.
