The NXT Optima Carbon is a rigid back support built on a one-piece T700 carbon fibre shell. This version has the standard mild thoracic contour of 3 inches (7.6 cm), which suits users with reasonable trunk control who need postural reference rather than firm containment.
The shell carries a dual density foam cushion with gel infused visco technology, covered in a washable four-way stretch antimicrobial polyester. A scapula cut-out keeps the upper shell clear of the shoulder blades so push stroke is not restricted.
Sizing runs across a range of widths and heights, so the back can be matched to torso dimensions rather than chair width. Mounting is by the QuickFit system or by two-point and four-point fixed hardware, with a one-hand quick release for transfers and vehicle loading.
