About this product

Spex Dual Mount is Spex back support hardware that attaches a Spex back support to the wheelchair back canes at two points. It gives 40 mm of depth adjustment and 30 degrees of back angle adjustment, the largest angle range in the Spex hardware family, and a quick release hook and latch so the back support lifts off for transport. The hardware weighs 1.1 kg.

Key features

  • Two points of attachment to the wheelchair back canes
  • 40 mm depth adjustment
  • 30 degrees of back angle adjustment
  • Quick release hook and latch to remove the back support
  • Default and extended set-up positions for reach and growth

Who it suits

Clients who need moderate to high postural support and whose seating is still being tuned: a growing child, a client with a progressive condition, or anyone whose tolerance for back angle changes over the day. The wide angle range lets the therapist open or close the seat to back angle at review without changing hardware.

Good to know

  • Not compatible with most wheelchairs that have a horizontal back cross brace
  • Fitting required; supplied for installation on the chair
  • Sold as hardware only, the back support is ordered separately

Talk to Thrive Lifecare about the chair and back support you are working with and we will quote the right mount. We supply seating Tasmania-wide.
