The Peak Shifty is a manual sit to stand transfer aid for moving a client from bed to chair, chair to commode or commode to shower without a powered hoist. The client places their feet on the base, holds the frame and is supported by a sliding belt while the carer brings the seat board through. It is rated to 200 kg, weighs 24 kg and has a powder coated steel frame with two locking castors.
The leg spread adjusts from 615 to 729 mm, so the base can be opened around a chair or commode and closed for doorways. The seat board swings through 0 to 150 degrees to bring the seat under the client once they are standing.

Who it suits
Clients who can bear some weight through their legs, hold on with at least one hand and follow instructions, but cannot complete a stand and step transfer on their own. Typical use is in aged care, respite and home care where a single carer needs to move a client several times a day for toileting and showering, and where a full sling hoist would be slower than needed.
Good to know
- No power or batteries; fully manual
- No sling needed, the support belt is included
- Overall footprint 800 mm long, 1070 mm high and up to 729 mm wide
- Carer training is recommended before first use
