The Silvalea In-Situ Straight Leg Sling with Head Support is a divided-leg, full body sling designed to be left under the client after a hoist transfer, subject to a risk assessment. The integral head support adjusts and has removable stiffeners, and low-friction fabric on the leg sections and head support makes it easier to fit. In Silva-Superfine Plus fabric the safe working load is 220 kg, and sizes run from XXXS to XXL.
Silva-Superfine Plus is a 3D compression spacer fabric with two-way stretch that helps redistribute weight when the sling stays in place. It is suitable for bathing, washes at up to 71 degrees Celsius and tumble dries on low heat, maximum 50 degrees.
Key features
- Full body and head support with a divided leg design
- Adjustable integral head support with removable stiffeners
- Low-friction fabric on leg sections and head support for easier application
- Fixed colour-coded loop tapes as standard for loop-fixing spreader bars
- Soft binding as standard for comfort when left in situ
- Safe working load 220 kg in Silva-Superfine Plus
- Eight sizes from XXXS to XXL, with the manufacturer’s size chart measurement A running from 56 to 160 cm across the range
Who it suits
A client with limited head, trunk and hip control who is hoisted several times a day and for whom repeated sling fitting is tiring or uncomfortable, for example a person with advanced neurological disease, high level spinal injury or poor skin integrity where fitting friction matters. Because it stays under the client, it needs a written risk assessment for in-situ use. A client who can tolerate sling removal after each transfer may be better served by a standard Fastfit sling, which is cheaper and simpler.
