About this product

basti is a bath and shower cradle for a child who cannot sit unsupported to be washed. The child lies on a generous padded surface, and the whole thing can sit in the bath, on a subframe for the shower, or outdoors at the beach.

The point most carers notice first is the one-handed backrest adjustment. You change the angle while the child is in the cradle without letting go of them. On the largest size it runs on two stainless steel ratchet joints.

  • Seat width 300 to 400 mm, seat depth 300 to 440 mm
  • Backrest 90 to 180 degrees, lower leg support 0 to 90 degrees, knee angle adjustment
  • Maximum user weight 75 kg
  • Fold-down headrest, angle adjustable, keeps water out of the eyes
  • Chest strap and a head guide pad adjustable for height and width
  • Optional pelvic recess with adjustable seat support
  • Removable blue mesh cover, washable at up to 30 degrees
  • Optional mobile shower subframe on four braked castors
  • Schuchmann guide: GMFCS levels III to V

The low seat position in the bath also means less water per bath, which adds up in a household bathing a child every day.

Scripted to the child, so start with a measure-up. Book a trial and we will size it with the treating therapist.
