Care Chairs

Care chairs, sometimes called high care or tilt in space chairs, support people who spend long periods seated and need pressure care, postural support and safe carer handling. They typically offer tilt, recline, adjustable leg rest and height, castors for moving the person within the home, and hoist access underneath.

Care chairs suit people with reduced sitting tolerance, high pressure injury risk, dementia, neurological conditions or those in palliative care. Consider seat dimensions, tilt and recline range, pressure care cushion integration, headrest and lateral support, the safe working load and how carers will transfer the person. Check the space available and floor surfaces for the castors.

Thrive Lifecare supplies care chairs for purchase and hire across Tasmania, with home trials, quotes for NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private purchase, delivery, set up and servicing. Book a trial to assess the person in the chair.
