About this product

The Air Chair Classic from Cobalt Health is a pressure care chair with an air cell system built into the seat and lumbar area, adjusted to the user’s weight so pressure is spread rather than concentrated on the sacrum and ischial tuberosities. Tilt-in-space runs from 0 to 17 degrees with backrest recline from 97 to 136 degrees and an elevating leg rest, so the client can be repositioned through the day without a transfer. Safe working load is 150 kg, on a 510 mm wide, 560 mm deep seat.

Key features

  • Air cell system in seat and lumbar, pressure adjustable to user weight
  • Tilt-in-space, backrest recline and elevating leg rest
  • Drop-down, multi-position armrests and head wings for side transfers
  • Fluid resistant, vapour permeable four-way stretch cover, removable for cleaning
  • Four large individually locking castors with rear push handles

Who it suits

Clients in residential aged care, hospital or home care who sit out of bed for long periods and are at low to high risk of pressure injury, including people with limited independent movement, palliative clients, and those with existing skin damage who still need time out of bed. The drop-down arms suit hoist and slide board transfers.
