Walking Sticks

An older man walking in a garden with a lightweight rollator

A walking stick is often the first mobility aid a person accepts, and the right one makes a real difference to balance and confidence. The range includes single point sticks, quad and tripod bases, folding sticks, adjustable height sticks, seat sticks and ergonomic handles for people with arthritis.

Fit the stick so the handle sits at the wrist crease when the arm hangs relaxed. Consider the handle shape for grip strength and hand pain, the base for stability on uneven ground, and whether the stick needs to fold into a bag. Check the ferrule for wear and the safe working load for the user.

Thrive Lifecare stocks walking sticks at both Tasmanian showrooms, delivers Tasmania-wide and can quote for NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private purchase. Book a trial or drop in to be fitted in person.
