The Arjo Standing Sling (TSS.500 to TSS.504) is the machine washable sling for Arjo’s Sara range of standing and raising aids: Sara Stedy, Sara Flex, Sara Lite and Sara 3000. It wraps around the client’s back and under the arms, with a fixed support belt that closes at the front, and attaches to the lifter’s hooks so a single carer can bring the client from sitting to standing. The safe working load is 200 kg and it comes in five sizes, small to XX-large.
The sling is polyester and is machine washed with buckles and hook-and-loop closed. Each size is colour coded on the sling so carers can pick the right one at a glance. Sizing is by the client’s waist measured in a seated position; if in doubt Arjo advises choosing the smaller size.

Who it suits
A client who can bear weight through at least one leg, has some trunk stability and can follow simple instructions, typically in residential care or at home where a Sara standing aid is already in use for toileting and chair to bed transfers. It is not a full body sling: a client who cannot weight bear or cannot hold their trunk up needs a passive hoist and a full body sling instead.

- Always use the lowest safe working load in the system; the Sara Lite is rated to 175 kg
- A disposable single patient version and a wipeable version are also available from Arjo
- Machine wash only; do not bleach, iron or dry clean
