The ArthriGrip Pro is a reacher for clients whose fingers cannot work a conventional pistol-grip trigger. The trigger runs the full 250 mm height of the handle, so the client closes the jaw with the whole hand, the side of the hand or the palm, and the rubber-lined toothed jaw rotates 90 degrees so a dropped item can be picked up from the floor, a shelf or a cupboard without turning the wrist. It comes in 65 cm and 82 cm lengths.
The body is aluminium and the handle is latex-free plastic, and it wipes clean. An optional stick clip fixes it to a walking stick or frame so it is at hand when needed. The maker gives a 5 year guarantee on general wear.

Who it suits
A client with rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, hand weakness after stroke, or a hand injury who cannot squeeze a standard reacher trigger with two fingers. Choose 65 cm for reaching from a chair or wheelchair and 82 cm for a tall client or reaching the floor from standing. A client with good hand strength who wants a lighter, cheaper tool is better served by a standard pick-up reacher.
Good to know
- No assembly
- Lift capacity is not rated; use it for light items such as clothing, keys and mail
- The stick clip is an optional accessory
