The K Care Maxi Shower Commode is the wide-seat version of K Care’s attendant propelled transit commode, built for larger clients. The reinforced stainless steel frame carries a safe working load of 195 kg at 550 mm seat width, 210 kg at 600 mm and 225 kg at 650 mm. Seat height is 605 mm, overall depth with footrests is 930 mm, and overall width runs from 665 mm to 765 mm depending on seat size, so check doorways before choosing the widest model.
Padded armrests swing up for side transfers and the footrests swing away for a standing or hoisted transfer. All four 125 mm castors have brakes. The unit rolls over a standard toilet or takes a commode pan, and the frame is rated to Australian standard AS/NZS 3973:2009.

Who it suits
A client above the weight or hip width of a standard 445 mm commode who is dependent on a carer for mobility and needs to be wheeled to the shower or over the toilet. Match the seat width to the client’s hip measurement with room for clothing and hoisting. A client who can propel themselves should be looked at for the self-propelled Maxi with rear wheels, and a client who cannot hold an upright sitting position needs a tilt-in-space commode instead.
