About this product

The Mangar ELK is an emergency lifting cushion for getting a fallen person off the floor without manual lifting. The carer slides the folded cushion under the person, then inflates it in four stages from a hand control until they are sitting at 560 mm, ready to stand or transfer to a chair. It is rated to 450 kg, weighs 3.6 kg and packs into a carry bag, and it is inflated by the battery operated Airflo 24 compressor, so no power point is needed.

Key features

  • Lifts a fallen person from the floor to 560 mm seated height
  • Rated to 450 kg
  • Cushion weighs 3.6 kg and folds into a carry bag
  • Four stage inflation from a hand control
  • Battery powered Airflo 24 compressor, 9 lifts per charge
  • Polyurethane coated nylon, 570 mm wide and 500 mm deep when inflated

Who it suits

For clients who fall at home, in residential care or in community settings, particularly in bathrooms, hallways and beside beds where a floor hoist or lifting chair cannot get in. The high load rating makes it a standard piece of bariatric falls equipment, and it suits one carer working alone. The person needs enough sitting balance to stay upright on the cushion as it rises.

Good to know

  • Ask us whether your quote should include the Airflo 24 compressor or the client already has one
  • No assembly; unpack, position and inflate
  • Inflated size 570 mm wide, 500 mm deep, 560 mm high
