The Spex Classic High Contour is a contoured cushion for clients who need more pelvic and thigh control than a flat cushion gives. A gel-foam ischial well sits in a 50 mm trough that holds the pelvis level, and thigh pads on the contouring base can be removed or stacked to manage abduction, adduction and leg length difference. Cushion height runs from 50 mm at 8 to 10 inches wide to 75 mm at 18 to 20 inches, and the safe working load is 90 kg up to 15 inches wide and 160 kg from 16 inches.
The dual-layer cover reduces shear, has breathable air mesh sides and includes an inner incontinence cover. An 8 x 8 inch cushion weighs 1.6 kg. Sizes 16 inches and wider add a coccyx channel. Widths run from 8 to 20 inches and depths from 8 to 24 inches, with paediatric sizes at the small end and a 29 x 29 inch bariatric size.

Who it suits
A child or adult with mild to moderate pelvic obliquity, windswept legs or a tendency to slide forward, who still transfers with help and does not need the deep immersion of the SuperHigh. It is common on paediatric and tilt-in-space chairs where the therapist wants to set thigh position with pads. A client with high tone and a fixed asymmetrical pelvis will be better held by the Spex Classic SuperHigh Contour with its 80 to 100 mm trough.
