The Spex SuperShape is a back support for clients whose trunk shape cannot be accommodated by a standard contoured back. Behind the cover sits a triple-layered system of contouring cells that can be set on the spot to match the client’s posture, so shaping is done in the chair during the fitting rather than sent away for modification.
It suits fixed or progressive presentations such as kyphosis, scoliosis and hyperlordosis, and clients with rib flare, a windswept trunk or prominent bony landmarks. The cell system lets the back capture asymmetry and give immersion over prominences, which helps with pressure distribution and trunk comfort.
The cover is a four-way expansion fabric so the surface moves with the contour instead of tenting over it. It is breathable and washable. Two foam densities are supplied, a firmer option and a more immersive option, so the surface can be tuned after the shape is set.
