The Etac Swift Mobil-2 is a mobile shower commode for clients who are showered and toileted seated. The seat height adjusts from 450 to 600 mm on the attendant propelled and self propelled models (500 to 650 mm on the tilt model), the seat is 500 mm wide and 500 mm deep with a rear-opening aperture, and the safe working load is 160 kg. The powder coated steel frame is 570 to 640 mm wide, so it passes a standard bathroom door.
The attendant propelled chair weighs 16.6 kg. The self propelled version adds 24 inch solid-tyre rear wheels (740 mm wide, 25.1 kg) and the Tilt-2 tilts from minus 5 to 35 degrees (20.4 kg, 550 mm back). The XL back adds 60 mm between the armrests for a larger client. A pan holder can be fitted under the seat for commode use away from the toilet. The whole chair can go through a washer-disinfector at 85 degrees.

Who it suits
A client who cannot stand to shower or walk to the toilet and is transferred by a carer, hoist or slide board. The attendant propelled chair is the everyday choice for aged care and home care; choose the self propelled chair for a client with the arm strength to wheel themselves in the bathroom, and the Tilt-2 for a client with poor trunk control or fatigue who needs to be tipped back for washing and pressure relief. For a client who only needs to sit in the shower and can walk in, a shower stool or fixed shower chair is enough.
Good to know
- The pan holder is an accessory; pans, soft seats, headrests, side supports, chest and hip belts and armrest pads are also available
- The XL back is a different back frame, not a cover, and widens the overall chair by 60 mm
- Measure the door width and toilet height before choosing a model; the chair should roll over a standard pan on the 450 to 600 mm height range
- Some assembly and height setting on delivery
