The K Care KA114S is an attendant propelled mobile shower commode on a stainless steel frame. Swing-up arms leave the side clear for a slide board or standing transfer, and the height adjustable footrests swing away and lift off so the client can stand straight out of the chair. Seat height is 550 mm, overall width is 520 mm, and the safe working load is 160 kg.
The frame weighs about 10 kg and runs on four 125 mm castors, all with brakes. The seat is not included: K Care makes a range of removable padded seats and apertures, so the seat is chosen to suit the client’s continence and pressure needs. It is independently tested to AS/NZS 3973:2009.

Who it suits
A client who is showered and toileted with a carer pushing the chair, and who transfers sideways or stands with support. The 400 mm width suits a smaller adult or a narrow bathroom door; the 445 mm width is the standard adult size. If the client propels themselves, look at the self propelled version with 600 mm rear wheels, and if they cannot sit upright for the length of a shower, a tilt-in-space shower commode is the better choice.
Good to know

- Check the seat height and clearance against the toilet if it is to be used over the pan
