The Molift Rail System (MRS) is Etac’s ceiling track for Molift Air hoists, and this is the standard 6 m straight rail in the OC/P profile. It comes in three heights: H62 (62 mm high, 59 mm wide), H112 (112 mm high) and H142 (142 mm high). The taller the profile, the further it can span between ceiling fixings: with a 160 kg hoist the H62 rail spans up to 3.25 m, the H112 up to 5.25 m and the H142 up to 6 m, and the system as a whole is rated from 160 kg to 500 kg depending on the hoist and fixings.
Rails can be cut to length, joined, curved through 30, 45, 60 and 90 degrees and combined into H-frame (traverse) systems that cover a whole room. Fixings, end stops, trolleys and the hoist are ordered separately after a site assessment.
Key features
- Three profile heights: H62, H112 and H142, all 6 m long
- Free span between fixings up to 3.25 m (H62), 5.25 m (H112) or 6 m (H142) at 160 kg
- System safe working load from 160 kg to 500 kg depending on hoist and fixings
- Straight rail, curved sections and traverse (H-frame) couplings from the same range
- Fits standard ceiling fixings, telescopic fixings and wall brackets
- In-Rail Charging option so the hoist charges anywhere on the track
- Molift products comply with ISO 10535
Who it suits
A client who needs regular hoisted transfers at home or in supported accommodation, where a floor hoist does not fit the room or takes too much carer effort. The H62 suits short single-room runs with fixings close together; the H112 and H142 suit longer spans, higher hoist loads and traverse systems that cover a bathroom and bedroom. If the client’s tenancy or building will not allow ceiling fixings, a freestanding gantry with the same Molift Air hoist is the alternative.
Good to know
- Rail only: hoist, trolley, fixings and installation are quoted separately after a site visit
- Profile choice depends on the ceiling structure and the span between fixings; we assess this on site
- Rails can be made to length or cut on site for a room-specific layout
- Installation, commissioning and annual inspection are carried out by Thrive Lifecare technicians
