Preventing a fall protects independence, and recovering well after one restores confidence. This range brings together falls prevention devices such as sensor mats and alarms, body protection including hip protectors and helmets, and products that reduce injury and support a safe return to daily routines.

A falls plan usually combines several approaches: making the environment safer, alerting carers when someone is on the move, and protecting the body if a fall does occur. Consider the person’s mobility, cognition, where and when falls are happening and who is available to respond. Equipment should fit the plan, not replace it.

Thrive Lifecare supplies falls prevention and recovery products to homes, supported accommodation and aged care across Tasmania, with delivery Tasmania-wide and quotes for NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private purchase. Book a trial to talk through the person’s needs.

Common questions

What helps prevent falls at home?

Small changes add up: grab rails, non slip mats, sensor lights, a bed or chair alarm that alerts a carer, and the right walking aid. An OT home assessment identifies the risks; we supply and fit what is recommended.

How can someone get up after a fall?

A lifting cushion or mobile lifter lets a carer raise a person from the floor without lifting them by hand. Body protection such as hip protectors reduces injury if a fall happens.

Can these products be trialled?

Yes. Book a trial and we will arrange it at home or in our Northern Tasmania or Southern Tasmania showroom, with a consultant who can adjust the equipment to the person. There is no obligation.

How is falls prevention equipment funded?

We quote in the format the funder needs. NDIS (self, plan or agency managed), Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA and private purchase are all common. Send us the OT report or script and we do the paperwork.
