The chair a person sits in for hours each day shapes their comfort, posture, skin and ability to stand and move. This range covers assistive day chairs, lift chairs and power lift recliners, care chairs with tilt and pressure care, and bariatric seating for higher safe working loads.

When selecting seating in Tasmania, measure seat height, depth and width against the person, assess their ability to rise, their pressure risk and postural support needs, and consider the room and carer access. Think about fabric, cleaning, transfers from a wheelchair or hoist, and the funding pathway through NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private purchase.

Common questions

What is the difference between a lift chair and a care chair?

A lift chair is an armchair with a motor that tilts and raises the person to a standing position. A care chair (high care or tilt in space chair) supports someone who spends long periods seated and needs pressure care, tilt and postural support, often with a hoist transfer.

Can we trial a chair at home?

Yes. Book a trial and we will arrange it at home or in our Northern Tasmania or Southern Tasmania showroom, with a consultant who can adjust the equipment to the person. There is no obligation.

Do you deliver and set up chairs?

Yes. Chairs are delivered assembled, placed where they will be used and set up for the person, Tasmania-wide.

What funding can be used for seating?

We quote in the format the funder needs. NDIS (self, plan or agency managed), Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA and private purchase are all common. Send us the OT report or script and we do the paperwork.
