The Icon I2 is Forte Healthcare’s entry-level static pressure care mattress, made in Armidale, NSW. It is 150 mm deep and built from three foam layers: an Airoform memory foam top that lets the body sink in and spreads contact pressure, an open-cell mid layer for postural support, and a firm foundation layer that stops the client bottoming out when the bed is raised to sitting. Forte rates it for low to medium risk and a therapeutic weight range of 40 to 150 kg.
The standard cover is Advantiflex Classic, a polyurethane-coated, multi-stretch, waterproof and vapour-permeable cover that wipes clean and is anti-microbial treated. Strengthened sides give a firm edge for sitting on the bed and for carers repositioning the client. Lengths are 1980 mm as standard, with the width set by the size ordered.

Who it suits
A client at low to medium risk of pressure injury who still moves in bed and gets in and out with light assistance, for example in home care or residential aged care on an adjustable bed. It is a preventative surface, not a treatment surface: a client with an existing pressure injury, or who cannot reposition at all, should be assessed for a high risk foam or an alternating air mattress instead. Above 150 kg choose a firmer Icon model.
Good to know
- Check the bed platform width before ordering: 880 mm suits a standard single, 1050 mm a king single, 1000 mm a European king single
- Cover unzips for cleaning; wipe with neutral detergent or approved disinfectant and dry before refitting
- Custom sizes can be made to suit other beds
