The Oxford MultiFit SL Reflex is a general purpose hoist sling from Joerns for seated and toileting transfers of clients with poor sitting balance. The Reflex shoulder straps adjust themselves as the client’s trunk position changes, which keeps them supported through an extensor spasm or a slump. The leg sections are oversized padded paddles for clients with larger thighs or sensitive skin, and low-friction rip-stop nylon runs down the spine and legs so the sling slides into place with less shear. Safe working load is 227 kg in sizes 1 to 10 and 284 kg in sizes 11 and 12.
The sling has an integrated head support, positioning handles, coloured attachment loops that show the carer where each strap goes, and a modesty loop that closes the front during the lift. Binding is colour coded by size across the twelve sizes.

Who it suits
A client with poor trunk control, extensor tone or unpredictable movement during a hoist transfer, for example with cerebral palsy, MS, Huntington’s or after a stroke, where a standard sling lets the shoulders drop back. The padded legs suit a client with thin skin or pain under the thighs. For a client with good sitting balance who only needs fast toileting access, a plain toileting sling with loose legs is simpler to fit.
