Mobile lifters and hoists move a person who cannot weight bear safely between bed, chair, wheelchair, commode and floor. Electric mobile hoists run on rechargeable batteries and can be used in most homes and facilities. This range includes standard, compact, bariatric and folding models, with a choice of spreader bars.

Assess the lift capacity needed, clearance under the bed and chairs for the hoist legs, turning space and floor surfaces such as carpet. Check the safe working load, the sling compatibility, whether a powered leg spread is needed and how the hoist will be stored and charged. Carers must be trained in its use.
