The Raz-AT is an attendant operated tilt-in-space mobile shower commode. Locking gas springs and a foot pedal tilt the seat up to 40 degrees, so a client who cannot hold themselves upright can be showered and toileted safely, and pressure is shifted off the seat during a long routine. The frame is polished stainless steel on four 125 mm dual-locking castors, and the safe working load is 160 kg. Seat height adjusts over 100 mm, from 540 to 640 mm, in 25 mm steps without tools.
The moulded seat has an ischial and pelvic alignment system with 50 mm of fore and aft adjustment, and comes with a commode pan and lid, a moulded headrest, flip-up padded arms and swing-away footrests with flip-up plates. Base frames are made in 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 inch (405 to 610 mm) widths; overall width is the seat width plus about 115 mm. The chair weighs about 28 kg with footrests.

Who it suits
A client with poor sitting balance, high tone, or fatigue who cannot manage an upright shower commode for the length of a shower, including clients with MS, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy or advanced neurological conditions, and one who is showered and toileted by a carer. Choose the frame width to the client’s hip width and the bathroom, and check the toilet before choosing the 16 inch frame, which will not straddle a standard pan. A client who can propel themselves should look at the Raz self-propel option; a client who needs reclining as well as tilt needs the Raz-CAT or a different chair.
